KETTERING, Ohio – St. Bonaventure is eighth out of 16 teams after the first round of the Dayton Flyer Invitational, which is being played on the NCR Country Club's South Course.
The Bonnies shot 303 (+19) in Monday's opening round of the 36-hole event. They are 10 shots behind the leader, Xavier. Northern Kentucky is second at 294 and host Dayton is at 295. Detroit is fourth at 298 while three teams – IUPUI, Butler and Oakland – are tied for the fifth spot.
Senior Dan Dunnigan led the Bonnies on Monday with a three-over par 74. He is in a tie for 15th place in the field of 91 players. Junior Patrick Milkovich carded a 75, while junior Josh Stauffer and freshman Corey Long both shot 77. Freshman Patrick Sheerer shot an 82, which did not count in the Bonnies' total.
The tournament's final 18 holes will be played on Tuesday.
