St. Bonaventure played one of the Atlantic 10's best teams close but came up on the short end of a 1-0 decision to VCU on Sunday afternoon at the Marra Complex.

Dennis Castillo scored on a header from about five yards out in the 14^th minute, taking a crossing pass off a corner kick by Mario Herrera and putting it past Bonnies keeper Jeremy Figler. The Rams made that score stand, holding the Bonnies to six shots on the day.

VCU had the better of play and sent 15 shots at Figler, who made four saves and saw several other VCU shots sail just wide or high.

VCU keeper Garrett Cyprus made three saves as St. Bonaventure was shut out for the fifth straight game. The Rams remained unbeaten in A-10 play while the Bonnies are still in search of their first A-10 points.
