The Short Story:
The St. Bonaventure women's soccer team dropped a must-win game at home on Friday, Oct. 31 against the Fordham Rams, 2-1. The Bonnies now drop to 2-5 in the Atlantic 10 and with only six points the Brown and White have been officially eliminated from postseason play due to wins by Richmond and St. Joseph's.

The Bonnies dominated the tempo of the first half as they recorded eight shots compared to Fordham's five. St. Bonaventure broke the scoreless tie in the 43rd minute off a Lauren Hill goal. The senior forward, Brittany Charles, shot the ball on net that was punched out by the Fordham goalkeeper and Hill was there to chest the ball into the back of the net. The goal for Hill was her fifth goal of the year, which leads SBU.

Fordham came out strong in the second half and were able to tie and take the lead off two goals from Claire Paoletta. In the 69th minute, Paoletta received a pass from Rachel Collage and beat the defender to blast a shot on net that bounced off the post into the right side of the net. In just 12 minutes later, Paoletta notched her second goal as she beat the Bonnies' goalkeeper, Christian Sarokon, on the left side of the net.

St. Bonaventure would only have one more chance on goal in the game, which came off the foot of Brittany Charles in the 85th minute. Charles shot the ball from 22 yards out, but the Fordham keeper made the save with ease.
