The Short Story: St. Bonaventure is in ninth place out of 16 teams after the first round of the Binghamton Invitational, which was played Sunday.
The Bonnies shot a solid round of 300 but overall, scores were low despite the cool and breezy conditions. Delaware posted a 9-under 279 and has a five-shot lead over Robert Morris (284). Host Binghamton is in third place at 286.
Junior Josh Stauffer and freshman Corey Long lead the Bonnies, each with rounds of 74 (tied for 30th place). Junior Patrick Milkovich, playing near his hometown of Vestal, shot 75, while senior Daniel Dunnigan shot 77. Junior Darren Simons, in his first action since a two-week layoff due to a wrist injury, shot 86.
