The Short Story:
The St. Bonaventure men's soccer senior day was spoiled on Sunday, Nov. 2 as the Saint Joseph's Hawks netted two to take down the Bonnies.
After a scoreless first half, St. Bonaventure got on the board after a scrum in the 48th minute that took place in front of the box, which Blagoja Dimitrievski shot the ball on goal that bounced off the keeper to find Bonaventure Akinlosotu, who placed the ball into the back of the net. This was Akinlosotu's first goal of his collegiate career.
Celebrations were cut short on the Bonnies' goal as the Hawks scored less than a minute later. In the 49th minute, Mark Colville received a pass from Mike Glazer that led him on a breakaway and blast the ball past Bobby Diaz for the tying goal.
Saint Joseph's added what would be the game-winning goal just five minutes later as Jake Nelson headed the ball of a corner kick.
A disallowed goal in the second-half for the Bonnies would prevent them from tying the game up at two.
The game began to be very feisty towards the end as there would be three yellow cards and one red card handed out in an eight minute window. St. Joe's tallied two yellows and the red card, while SBU had a yellow. The red card would be a straight red as Matt Crawford committed a hard tackle on Kyle Kleckner.
