Duquesne Scouting Report:
• The Dukes won at Rhode Island last Saturday by an 83-71 final. Both Ovie Soko and L.G. Gill scored 19 points in the win; Gill drained five of his six three-point shots to spark Duquesne, which made 56 percent of its shots from the field. The win snapped a five-game losing streak.
• Soko, a fifth-year senior who transferred to Duquesne from the University of Alabama at Birmingham in May of 2012, leads the Dukes in both scoring (18.4 points per game) and rebounding (8.0). He stands second in the conference in scoring and sixth in rebounding. Soko has gone to the free throw line 241 times this season, more than any other A-10 player. He shoots 68 percent at the line.
• In addition to Soko, six other Duquesne players average at least seven points per game: sharp-shooting guard Micah Mason (10.0), forward Dominque McKoy (9.8), guard Derrick Colter (9.5), guard Tra'Vaughn White (8.5) and swingman Jeremiah Jones (7.0). Mason leads not only the A-10 but all of NCAA Division I in three-point field goal percentage, connecting on 58 percent (50-86) for the season.

Last Time Out: Bonnies Outgun George Mason: Saturday in Fairfax, Va., Matthew Wright scored 24 points and Jordan Gathers and Dion Wright came off the bench to score 18 and 15 points, respectively, to lead St. Bonaventure to an 85-73 win over George Mason. The Bonnies used a 10-3 run midway throught the second half to open a 10-point lead. Wright scored 19 of his points in the second half and went 12-13 at the free throw line; the Bonnies made 32-of-36 at the line and shot 47 percent from the field overall.

Matthew Wright Named A-10 Player of Week: After outstanding games in the Bonnies' wins at Fordham and George Mason last week, senior shooting guard Matthew Wright was named the Atlantic 10 Co-Player of the Week. He shares the award with Richmond's Kendall Anthony. Wright averaged 21 points, 3.5 rebounds and 2.5 assists over the two games, leading the Bonnies in scoring in both road victories with 18 at Fordham and 24 at George Mason. Wright played the majority of the George Mason game after sustaining a cut below his right eye that later required two stitches. Wright, who ranks ninth in the A-10 in scoring (15.7 ppg) and leads the conference in free throw percentage (.867), is the first St. Bonaventure player to win a weekly A-10 award this season.

RPI Watch: St. Bonaventure stands 73rd in the NCAA's RPI rankings this week. The RPI is a measurement of all 349 Division I teams that factors in home and away records as well as strength of schedule. The Bonnies are one of eight A-10 teams in the top 100 of the RPI.

Reilly Center Advantage: Under head coach Mark Schmidt, the Reilly Center is again a superb home court advantage. This season at the RC, the Bonnies:
• Have a record of 9-2 with a win over #21 UMass and the only losses to Dayton and George Washington
• Have won by seven points or more in all nine victories
• Have been at their best defensively, holding six of their 11 opponents under 65 points and under 40 percent shooting

Ndoye's Progression: While he is in just his fifth season playing the game, junior center Youssou Ndoye has shown growth in all facets. His freshman season, playing behind A10 Player of the Year Andrew Nicholson, Ndoye averaged 2.6 points and 2.4 rebounds. Last season, the 7-footer improved to 6.9 points and 4.9 rebounds. This season, he's up to 9.5 points, 5.5 rebounds and 2.3 blocks per game, with three of his four career double-doubles. In A-10 games, he has been even better, averaging 11 points, 5.5 rebounds and 2.8 blocks. His 56 blocks rank fifth in Bona's single-season records; Ndoye stands fourth on Bona's career blocks list with 114. Ndoye came to St. Bonaventure weighing about 200 pounds and now is at 240.

The Wright Way: Consistency from Matthew Wright has been a key to the Bonnies' success. The senior shooting guard leads the Bonnies in scoring at 15.7 points per game, which ranks ninth in the Atlantic 10 Conference. He also leads the A-10 in free throw shooting percentage at .867. Wright has scored in double figures 17 times topped by a 32-point outburst against Southern Illinois. He also has been an effective distributor, handing out 77 assists (3.2 per game, 11th in the A-10). Best known for his three-point shooting, Wright has made 47 threes (47-138/.341), which is the eighth-best total among A-10 players. In A-10 play, Wright is shooting 38 percent from long range.

Scoring Options Increase: With the emergence of Dion Wright, Marquise Simmons and Jordan Gathers as capable scorers, St. Bonaventure has more offensive options than it did last year, when Demitrius Conger, Chris Johnson and Eric Mosely accounted for nearly half of the team's scoring. The Bonnies now have seven players averaging more than 8.0 points: Matthew Wright (15.7), Charlon Kloof (12.2), Andell Cumberbatch (9.7), Youssou Ndoye (9.5), Dion Wright (9.4), Gathers (8.5) and Simmons (8.0). Every one of those players except Dion Wright have led the Bonnies in scoring at least once. The Bonnies rank sixth in the A-10 in scoring at 74.5 points per game.
