The Short Story:
Newcomer of the St. Bonaventure baseball team, Dylan Dunn, drove in all three runs for the Bonnies as they were defeated by the Wisc.-Milwaukee Panthers on Sunday in Port Charlotte, Fla. The Panthers jumped on the scoreboard in the first inning from a double down the left side. St. Bonaventure over took the lead in the bottom of the first with a single from Dunn that allowed Joel Rosencrance and Thad Johnson to score. The Brown and White held the lead until the fourth where the day started to go downhill quickly for SBU after two Milwaukee players doubled that brought home four runs. The Panthers went on to score nine runs in the final three innings of the game, while the Bonnies only tallied one run in the final three.
How It Happened:
- In the top of the first, Wisconsin-Milwaukee's Sam Koenig doubled through the left side that allowed Michael Porcaro to round third and score.
- Junior first-baseman, Dylan Dunn put the Bonnies in front after a single up the middle in which pushed home Rosencrance and Johnston to make the score 2-1.
- The Bonnies faced a threat in the top of the second but were able to get out of trouble off a 4-6-3 double play.
- In the bottom of third, St. Bonaventure found itself with a base runner with two outs but the Panthers escaped the trouble after Johnson was thrown out trying to steal second.
- Milwaukee took the lead back after getting to Steven Klimek in the top of the fourth after giving up two doubles that led to four runs.
- In back-to-back innings, SBU had runners on the bags but was unable to bring them around to score.
- After going to the bullpen in the beginning of the seventh, Wisc.-Milwaukee tacked on five more runs to extend their lead to 10-2.
- St. Bonaventure got a run back in the bottom of the seventh after Dunn flied out to right-field and Jared Baldinelli tagged up and crossed home plate to cut the deficit to seven.
- To close out the game the Panthers posted four more runs in the final two innings.
Inside The Box Score:
- Making his first start of the season Steven Klimek went six innings, allowing six hits that resulted in five runs but only one earned. He also struck-out five.
- Senior Joel Rosencrance continues to be red hot at the plate after connecting for three hits in five plate appearances.
- Dylan Dunn recorded three RBI off of two hits and a sac-fly. This was his first start at first-base for the Brown and White.
- Four different St. Bonaventure batters made make contact with the ball more than once. Among those four was Thad Johnson, who recorded two hits and also scored a run.
- Freshman Jared Baldinelli earned his first collegiate hit in the seventh inning with a single down the left-field line. He later went out to score off a Dunn sac-fly.
Stat Of The Day:
3 – Joel Rosencrance has recorded three hits in his first two games this season. He has improved his career record of three-hit games to five games.

The Bonnies return to the diamond on Monday, February 24 against the Kansas Jayhawks for an 11 a.m. tilt in Port Charlotte, Fla. Kansas was predicted to finish ninth in the Big XII conference preseason poll.
