The Short Story:
The St. Bonaventure baseball team faced an offensive struggle on Sunday, April 27 against Dayton as they fell by a score 5-1. The Dayton Flyers' starting pitcher, Charlie Dant, led his squad into the eighth inning with a no-hitter in tack before the Bonnies finally recorded a hit. St. Bonaventure went on to only registered two hits in the ballgame, both of them being singles. This was the Brown and White's first lost to Dayton since March 25, 2012, SBU was on a five-game winning streak against the Flyers. Drew Teller (2-4) would end up taking the lost for Bonaventure, while Dant (5-5) earned the win.
How It Happened:
- The game remained scoreless until the bottom of the fourth inning as Kuris Duggan ended the scoreless tie with a double to right field that scored Glenn Jones.
- Duggan went on to follow his performance in the fourth when he doubled again but this time to left field that scored Aaron Huesman from second base.
- The Flyers added two runs in the sixth from a Sergio Plasencia single to center field, which allowed Duggan and Greg Rhude to touch home plate.
- In the bottom of the seventh, Rhude knocked a sac-fly to left field to give Dayton a five-run lead heading into the eighth.
- St. Bonaventure registered their first hit in the eighth with a single from Justin Brozick.
- In the next at-bat, Jonathan Diaz walked and helped the Bonnies by giving them their best chance to get a run on the board with runners on first and second.
- Bret Heath converted on the chance and knocked in a run for the Brown and White with a single to center field that pushed Brozick home.
- Dayton clinched their four-run victory in the ninth as SBU went down in order.

- Starting Pitcher Drew Teller had a strong outing in his 3.1 innings pitched as he only allowed a lone run on three hits, while posting five strikeouts.
