ITHACA, N.Y. – St. Bonaventure stands in 10th place out of 15 teams after the first two rounds of the Cornell Invitational, which were both played Saturday at Robert Trent Jones Golf Club.
The Bonnies shot 299 in Saturday's morning round but faded with a 315 in the second round. Their total of 614 stands one shot behind both host Cornell and Canisius. Dartmouth leads the tournament at 598 while Drexel is in second place at 599. Longwood (Va.) is third at 604.
Junior Josh Stauffer leads St. Bonaventure with back-to-back rounds of 75 for a total of 150 (+6). Stauffer is in 15th place in the field of 77 players.
Freshman Corey Long opened with a two-over par 74, as did junior Patrick Milkovich. Long shot 79 in the second round is tied for 26th place at 153. Milkovich shot 81 in the afternoon and is at 155. Senior Dan Dunnigan carded a 76 in the opening round and 80 in the second for a total of 156. Freshman Patrick Sheerer shot 88 and 86.
The final round will be played Sunday starting at 8 a.m.
