@BonniesGolf Ends In Tie For Ninth In Cornell Invitational


ITHACA, N.Y. – St. Bonaventure finished in a tie for ninth place out of 15 teams in the Cornell Invitational, which finished Sunday at Robert Trent Jones Golf Club.

The Bonnies shot 309 in Sunday's round to finish with a 54-hole total of 923, which tied Fordham. Dartmouth (904) won the team title by a mere one shot over Delaware and Penn. Colgate finished fourth at 909 followed by Drexel (910), Cornell (912), Longwood (914), and Binghamton (922). The Bonnies finished ahead of Siena (924), Bucknell (928), Canisius (932), Cornell "B" (946) and Ottawa (973).

Individually, juniors Patrick Milkovich and Josh Stauffer led St. Bonaventure with identical totals of 227 (+14), good for a tie for 14th place in the field of 77 players. Milkovich shot an even-par 72 on Sunday, while Stauffer shot 77. The other two counting scorers Sunday were senior Dan Dunnigan with a 78 and freshman Corey Long with an 82. Dunnigan ended at 234 for the tournament while Long totaled 235. Freshman Patrick Sheerer shot 87 in the final round to end at 261. 

The Bonnies will be back in action this Thursday, Sept. 25, when they play Canisius and Niagara for the annual Little 3 Championship.
