NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. – St. Bonaventure finished second in the annual Little 3 Championship, which was played Thursday at Niagara Falls Country Club.
The Bonnies shot 604 over the 36-hole championship and were bested by Canisius, which totaled 599. Niagara finished third at 612. St. Bonaventure opened with a 301 in the morning round and then shot 303 in the afternoon. The Little 3 format has six players per team with the top four scores counting. The Bonnies had a lead of one stroke entering the afternoon, but the Griffs were able to grab the title thanks to a second round of 297.

Individually, Josh Stauffer led St. Bonaventure with his total of 147, which was second to Canisius' Andrew Romano and Hunter Sagar, who both finished a 146.
St. Bonaventure was the defending Little 3 champion.
The Bonnies' next tournament is the Binghamton Invitational Oct. 5-6.
