St. Bonaventure is in third place out of 14 teams after the first two rounds of the Colgate Invitational, which were played Saturday at Seven Oaks Golf Course.

The Bonnies posted an opening round of 310 but rebounded in the afternoon with a 297 for a 36-hole total of 607 (+31).  Army has a commanding lead at 583 followed by host Colgate at 595.

Juniors Josh Stauffer and Darren Simons paced St. Bonaventure on Saturday. Stauffer is tied for sixth place at 78-71/149, while Simons is one shot back at 150 on rounds of 79 and 71 and is tied for seventh in the field of 75 players. Freshman Corey Long put together a solid first day with rounds of 76 and 77 for a 153 total. Junior Patrick Milkovich is at 156 (77-79) and freshman Patrick Sheerer is at 160 (78-82).

The tournament will conclude with 18 holes on Sunday.
