After allowing 82 points in both of their prior games, the Bonnies clamped down on UMass in the win, holding the Minutemen to 35 percent shooting (19-54) including 4-22 from three-point range. St. Bonaventure also forced UMass into 15 turnovers and converted those into 25 points.
St. Bonaventure led 28-19 at halftime but saw its lead trimmed to 37-34 seven minutes into the second half. The Bonnies, however, responded with a 12-0 run from that point to take control of the game. The lead never went any lower than 16 points until the final minute.
Andell Cumberbatch chipped in 12 points while Dion Wright had six points and seven rebounds. Ndoye has now grabbed 10 rebounds or more in 10 consecutive games. He also blocked three UMass shots.

- Andell Cumberbatch stopped the run with two free throws followed by two more by Ndoye. Iakeem Alston then stole a Minuteman pass and fed Cumberbatch at the other end for a three-pointer that pushed the lead back to double figures at 44-34 with 10:23 left.
