Box Score DAYTON, Ohio – The Dayton Flyers defeated the St. Bonaventure Bonnies, 6-1. Abby Maiello scored the lone Bona goal, her 10th of the season.
Right off the bat, Dayton got on the board with a goal by Alexis Kiehl 42 second after kickoff.
Shortly after, the Flyers extended their lead to 2-0 at the 3:59 as Lesley Clinton scored off a Nicole Waters pass, good for her second assist of the game on as many goals.
At the 15:00 mark, Alyson Smigel landed a Kiehl pass in to the back of the net to put the Flyers up 3-0.
St. Bonaventure got on the board at the 31:58 mark on a goal from Abby Maiello, assisted by Lauren Hill to bring the score to 3-1. The score would hold through the half.
Kiel scored her second goal of the game shortly after the start of the second half on an assist from Smigel.
Five minutes later at the 59:51 mark, Kiehl scored her hat trick goal off a pass from Clinton.
Dayton received their sixth goal of the game from Libby Leedom at the 70:02 mark. The score would hold, and the Flyers would go on to win 6-1.
Inside The Stats/Game Notes:
- Dayton outshot the Bonnies, 36-12, and the Flyers put 21 shots on goal compared to the Bonnies' five.
- Both Bona keepers received minutes in goal today. Christina Sorokon saved 10 shots, while Beth Moore saved five.
- Abby Maiello had a team-high six shots.
Up Next: The Bonnies will return home and look for their third conference win against Richmond on Thursday, Oct. 29 at the Marra Athletics Field Complex.
