MECHANICSVILLE, Va. – The St. Bonaventure University women's cross country team finished 14th at the 2015 Atlantic 10 Championship meet held at Pole Green Park under perfect conditions on Saturday morning.
Richmond took the team championship with 87 total points, nipping second-place Duquesne (88). LaSalle (111) and UMass (111) tied and George Washington (136) was fifth with Saint Louis (153), St. Joseph's (156), Davidson (179), Dayton (187), Fordham (214), George Mason (237), Rhode Island (307), VCU (330) and St. Bonaventure (440) completing the results.
Senior Aubrie Russell was the top-finishing Bonnies runner, taking 98th place by finishing the 5K course in a time of 19:20.3, a personal best time for Atlantic 10 championships. That time is good for eighth all-time in the Bonnies 5K record books, giving Russell her third top 10 program mark – all set this season.
Freshman Emily Izydorcak made her conference championship debut by finishing in 19:31.7 for 105th place. Sophomore Hailey Gattuso easily bested her A-10 meet time of a year ago with a mark of 19:47.8 to take 112th.
Nicolette DiMura ran 20:04.03 to finish fourth for the Bonnies. Another Bonnies freshman, Lindsay Weaver crossed the finish line in 20:21.2 and junior Julia Mericle crossed the finish line at 21:20.2. Also competing for the Brown and White were freshman Rachel Guyer (20:32.4), juniors Alexis Young (21:38.8) and Courtney Brinsky (21:53.3) and senior Maggie Schunk (21:54.9).
