@BonniesGolf Improves To Fourth on Final Day at Binghamton Invitational

APALACHIN, N.Y. – The St. Bonaventure University golf team moved up the leaderboard on Monday during the final round of the Binghamton Fall Invitational, finishing fourth out of 16 teams on the Links at Hiawatha Landing.

Delaware won the tournament by two shots with a team score of four-over 580, besting Rhode Island's 582. Towson (590) and St. Bonaventure (593) followed with host Binghamton and Colgate tying for fifth at 599. The Bonnies improved their team score by three shots over Sunday's first round, tallying a total score of 295 in Monday's round.

Senior Josh Stauffer turned in another fine round for the Bonnies, shooting a two-under 70 on Monday to finish the 36-hole tournament in a tie for third overall with a total score of 142 (-2). Stauffer, who took home medalist honors at the Little Three Championship last week, has a scoring average of 71.3 over the last three tournaments.

Sophomore Corey Long also jumped up the individual leaderboard on Monday afternoon, recording a one-over 73 to finish in a tie for 14th with a total of 148 (+4).

Fellow sophomore Patrick Sheerer finished with a 77 on Monday for a 151 (+7) total for the tournament and tied for 23rd. Freshman Brent Morgan improved by two strokes in the final round, carding a three-over 75 to finish at 152 (+8). Senior Darren Simons completed the scoring for the Bonnies, recording a 77 for tournament total of 155 (+11).

Playing as an individual, senior Patrick Milkovich shot 78 Monday to finish at 153 (+9).

Jack Gianniny of Delaware shot a four-under 140 to lead the field of 85 golfers.

The Bonnies return to action Oct. 12-13 at Whistling Straits in Wisconsin for the Whistling Straits Intercollegiate.
