The Short Story: St. Bonaventure's Atlantic 10 Tournament run came to an end Friday night with a hard-fought, 75-71 loss to #2 seed Dayton in the quarterfinals.

The Bonnies led 67-64 after two free throws by Marcus Posley with 2:11 left. Dayton, however, pulled within one after Posley fouled Scoochie Smith and he made two free throws at the 2:01 mark. Jordan Sibert gave Dayton the lead for good when he made a three-pointer from the top of the key with 1:09 remaining that made it a 69-67 game.

Dayton went ahead 71-67 after a Bona turnover led to a Sibert fastbreak layin. Posley then hit a jumper to trim the lead to 71-69. Sibert was fouled and made one of two free throws with 21 ticks left, then Posley drove and scored to pull Bona within 72-71 with 12 seconds remaining.

The Bonnies got one last chance after Sibert again made just one of two at the line after he was fouled with 12 seconds left, leaving it a 73-71 game. Posley drove down the lane, was bumped and then stripped of the ball. Dayton went the length of the court and scored to seal the win.

St. Bonaventure, which had lost two lopsided games to the Flyers in the regular season, played one of its best games of the year Friday. The Bonnies shot 58 percent from the field, including 8-15 from three-point range. Dion Wright and Posley combined for 50 points. Wright was 10-11 from the field -- 4-5 from long range -- for a career high 24 points. He also grabbed nine rebounds. Posley finished with 26 points and four assists. Youssou Ndoye was limited to four points but had eight rebounds and five blocked shots. Andell Cumberbatch finished with eight points.

The Bonnies' bid for the win was undone in part by 16 turnovers, including the two critical ones down the stretch.

St. Bonaventure, which is now 18-13, will await word on a potential postseason berth.
