@BonniesGolf 10th After Two Rounds of Rutherford Intercollegiate

St. Bonaventure is in 10th place out of 12 teams after Saturday's first two rounds of the Rutherford Intercollegiate at Penn State's Blue Course (par 71).

The Bonnies opened with a 311 and improved to a 300 in the second round for a total of 611 after 36 holes.

St. Bonaventure trails ninth place Cleveland State by five shots and eighth place George Washington by six. Host Penn State (572) is in command of the team lead with a seven shot edge over Eastern Michigan.

Junior Josh Stauffer leads the Bonnies with a score of 149 (+7) on rounds of 76 and 73. He is tied for 18th place. Senior Daniel Dunnigan is in a tie for 34 place at 152 after rounds of 74 and 78.

St. Bonaventure's two freshmen in the lineup, Corey Long and Patrick Sheerer, bounced back with strong afternoon rounds following below-average first rounds. Long opened with 80, then shot a 75 for a 155 total. Sheerer shot 82 in the first round, but came back with a 74 for a total of 156.  Junior Patrick Milkovich shot 81-78 for a total of 159.

Jens Talbert of host Penn State and Sam Madsen of Georgetown are tied for the individual lead at -4 (138).

The Rutherford will be completed with 18 holes on Sunday.
