@BonniesGolf Finishes Seventh in Colgate Invitational

Hamilton, N.Y. -- St. Bonaventure finished in seventh place out of 14 teams in the Colgate Invitational, which ended Sunday afternoon at Seven Oaks Golf Course.

Sunday, the Bonnies were unable to move up despite posting their best round of the tournament, a 309.  St. Bonaventure ended the event with a 54-hole total of 942, which was 11 shots behind sixth-place Iona. Youngstown State won the tournament at 911 followed by Cornell (915), Bucknell (921), Colgate (924) and Lafayette (924). The Bonnies finished six shots ahead of Canisius (948) and seven clear of Wagner (949). Fairleigh Dickinson (951), Lehigh (956), Niagara (958), Ottawa (958) and Hofstra (962) completed the field. 

Bonnies freshman Matt Abendroth led the way on Sunday with a final round of 76. Sophomore Corey Long shot 77, while senior Josh Stauffer and freshman Brent Morgan both shot 78. Senior Patrick Milkovich shot 82. 

For the tournament, Long and Abendroth tied for 19th place in the field of 80 players, both a 234. Morgan was one shot back at 235 and tied for 25th, while Stauffer finished in a tie for 38th at 239. Milkovich totaled 249.

The Bonnies' next tournament will be their own Leo Keenan Invitational Sept. 20-21 at Bartlett Country Club.
