St. Bonaventure's five game winning streak was snapped Wednesday night with a 71-64 loss to La Salle in Philadelphia.

The Bonnies led 63-62 after Marcus Posley's three-pointer with 2:16 left, but La Salle then got back-to-back layups by Tony Washington and Jordan Price to go ahead 66-63. After Jordan Tyson made one of two free throws, Price scored inside with 34 seconds remaining to put the Explorers in control at 68-64.

St. Bonaventure made just 37 percent of its field goal attempts on the night and was outrebounded 41-27. The Explorers were 11-22 from three-point range including 8-16 in the first half as they took a 35-32 lead at the break.

The Bonnies fell to 17-7 overall and 9-4 in the Atlantic 10 Conference.

How It Happened:

  • The Bonnies started slowly, turning the ball over six times in the opening five minutes. La Salle took advantage, jumping out to an 11-2 lead to start the game.
  • The Explorers made seven of their first 12 three-point shots in the game, the last by Johnnie Shuler at the 8:42 mark that pushed LaSalle's lead to 25-15.
  • St. Bonaventure responded with a 10-0 run to tie the game at 25. Dion Wright capped the spurt at the 5:19 mark; Jaylen Adams keyed the run with two scores and an assist.
  • La Salle scored six of the last eight points of the first half and led 35-32 at intermission – just the fourth time this season the Bonnies trailed at the half.
  • Marcus Posley started hot in the second half, scoring eight straight points to push the Bonnies ahead 40-38.
  • From there, neither team could gain separation until LaSalle pulled ahead 56-51 with a 7-0 run. Two Jordan Price free throws at 7:44 mark capped that surge.
  • LaSalle led until the 2:17 mark left in the game when Posley made a three-pointer from the top of the key to put the Bonnies ahead 63-62.
