GENEVA, Ohio - The St. Bonaventure women's swimming and diving team improved their overall position Friday night at the conference championships. The team moved up to 10th place overall following Friday's finals.
In the 100-yd butterfly, Elizabeth Malone swam well placing 13th overall in the event. The senior posted a final time of 56.32.
Tanja Kirmse continued her impressive championship meet Friday night. The senior again posted a top eight finish, this time in the 200-yd freestyle. Kirmse posted an overall time of 1:51.17, which placed her seventh overall.
In the 100-yd backstroke, sophomore Devon McFadden posted an 11th place finish, touching the wall with a time of 56.41.
In the 400-yd freestyle relay, the Bonnies posted a ninth place finish. The team of McFadden, Maria Rocchi, Malone and Kirmse combined to a post a time of 3:50.05, improving upon their 3:52.22 seed time.
The Bonnies will look to finish strong Saturday when the 2016 Atlantic 10 Championship concludes. Prelims begin at 10:00 a.m. with the top 16 finishers returning for finals starting at 6:00 p.m.
