The Bonnies hit the ground running as they jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the top of the first. Kelli Rohan led off the game with a triple and came in to score on an RBI single for Desiree Gonzalez.
SBU grabbed two more and went up 3-0 the very next inning. With two outs, Kelly Farrell singled through the right side and stole second base. Rohan then reached on an error, advancing Farrell to third. Emily McDonough cashed in both runners with a two-run double.
In the top of the fourth, McDonough drove home Farrell and Rohan again with a two-run single to put the Bonnies up, 5-0.
Penn got on the board with an RBI double in the bottom of the fourth, but, behind the arm of Bona pitcher Josie Borysevicz, the 5-1 score in favor of the Bonnies lasted through the remainder of the game.
Borysevicz went all seven innings, allowing six hits and striking out three to earn her first win of the season.
The Bonnies earned seven hits to Penn's six. McDonough and Gonzalez recorded two apiece.

The Bonnies completed the sweep of the day by scoring all five of their runs in the first two innings against Seton Hall, who came into the game with 10 wins already in the 2016 season.
SBU squeezed out a run in the bottom of the first to go up 1-0. Rohan reached base on an error, and advanced to second on a bunt single from McDonough. Emily Belfield reached on a fielder's choice, moving Rohan to third. A passed ball allowed Rohan to score and give the Bonnies an early lead.
St. Bonaventure then exploded for four runs in the bottom of the second, stringing together four hits, three of which going for extra bases. Farrell drove home Alissa Karjel with a double, and Rohan scored Farrell with a triple. McDonough then sent home Rohan with a double. Belfield then stepped up to the plate and drove in McDonough with a single.
Seton Hall claimed a run in the top of the third and two more in the fifth, but the early five runs scored by the Bonnies would be enough.
Carly Bilchak held it down for the Bonnies in the circle, going all seven innings and allowing just three hits while striking out two.
The Bona offense out hit Seton Hall, 10 to three. McDonough accounted for four of those hits.
Desiree Gonzalez and Hailey Blencowe also earned hits for SBU.
