STORYLINE
The Bonnies will look for their first Atlantic 10 win of the year when they welcome UMass to Fred Handler Park at McGraw-Jennings Field this weekend. After a conference bye weekend last week, the Bonnies will have their first conference action since a heartbreaking three-game sweep at the hands of VCU last month - two of those losses came by one run.
SCHEDULE CHANGE
Friday will now feature a doubleheader between the teams beginning at 2 p.m. with the series finale set for Sunday afternoon also as noon. Saturday's game was moved due to freezing temperatures in the forecast.
LAST MEETING
The Minutemen took two of three at home last year – the Bonnies won the first of a doubleheader, 4-3, as Connor Grey picked up the win with Thad Johnson earning the save. UMass won the next two games, 9-5 and 5-1.
ABOUT UMASS
- The Minutemen rank sixth in the Atlantic 10 in batting average at .258 and eighth in team ERA at 4.83.
- UMass has played just 16 games this season, opening the Atlantic 10 schedule by dropping two of three at Davidson March 25-26. The Minutemen last played March 30, falling to Boston College, 11-5.
- Dylan Morris paces the team with a .364 batting average and John Jennings has driven in 13 runs while hitting .333.
- Morris, Jennings and Jon Avallone have all reached base in at least 10 consecutive games with Morris having hit safely in 14 straight contests.
- Sunday's probable starter Justin Lasko was selected as the Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week on March 21 after throwing eight innings of one-run ball vs. Maine.
