ANNAPPOLIS, Md. – The St. Bonaventure University men's tennis team completed the first day of action at the Navy Invitational Friday, earning two singles wins and a doubles victory.
Victor Blanco advanced to the second round with a win in Flight A singles, and John Rutkowski moved on to the second round with a victory in Flight E singles. Rutkowski's success continued into doubles play as he and his partner Hristo Hristov earned an advancing victory in Flight C.
Those that did not win their first-round matches will move to consolation play.
Along with the Bonnies and host Navy, Bucknell, Delaware, George Mason, George Washington, Georgetown, Mary Washington, Monmouth, Morgan State, Richmond and Temple all have competitors in the invitational.
