#Bonnies to Begin Spring Season at Loyola (Md.), Navy

ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. – The St. Bonaventure University men's tennis team will travel to the state of Maryland for two matches, the first against Loyola on Friday and the second at Navy on Sunday.

The Bonnies' final action of the fall was at ITA Regionals on Oct. 21 Hector Martinez was the lone Bona competitor in singles action and Indra Patwardhan joined him for doubles competition, but St. Bona failed to earn a win in either. Prior to ITA Regionals, the Brown and White competed at the Navy Invite (Sept 23-25) and Army Invite (Sept. 16-18). Freshman Lukas Linden Malmberg earned a team-best four total singles wins for the Bonnies while St. Bonaventure earned the consolation bracket doubles championships at the Navy Invite as the pairs of Indra Patwardhan and Hector Martinez won Flight B, and Mitchell McGuirt and Malmberg won Flight C.     

Loyola had two players qualify for the Patriot League Kickoff Tournament. It sent Brian Hoffarth and Blest Jones. Jones went on to advance to the championship round.

In the Wake Forest Invitational in the fall, Zach Jennings, Gabriel Pilones, Matthew Lee and Greg Durham all were able to pick up wins for Navy.

Action at Loyola on Friday will begin at 6:00 p.m. while Sunday's match at Navy is set to start at 11:00 a.m.

Following this weekend, the Bonnies will travel to Siena on Friday, Jan. 27.
