Malcolm's 13 Saves Highlight Scoreless Draw For Women's Soccer at Fordham

Box Score

BRONX, N.Y. – A career-high 13 saves from sophomore goalkeeper Lauren Malcolm were the story as the St. Bonaventure University women's soccer team played to a double overtime scoreless draw Thursday night at Fordham.

Malcolm was outstanding throughout the game, making several highlight reel saves to keep the Rams (5-5-4, 2-2-1 A-10) off the board. Her 13 stops actually match her previous best, equaling her performance in a game last year against Rhode Island and are one off the most by any goalkeeper in the Atlantic 10 this season - Richmond's Katie Brennan made 14 saves last month at West Virginia.

Though with just six shot attempts on the night, the Bonnies did have opportunities to crack into the scoring column with some of their best chances coming late in regulation.

With less than three minutes to play in regulation time, Mariah Marrero drove through two Fordham defenders to create a chance, leaving a loose ball out at the top of the box for Bella May. May curled a high-arching shot wide, but the Bonnies soon had another opportunity.

Another great touch from Sabrina Sousa-Sampson resulted in a strike just past the post as the clock ticked under 90 seconds to play.

The Bonnies continue to seek their first win, but did gain a point in the A-10 standings by moving to 0-3-2 in conference play.

Danielle Vis, Sydney Cassagnol and Maddie Mason each played all 110 minutes of action.

Next up for the Bonnies is a return home to the Marra Athletics Complex where they are set to host Rhode Island on Sunday at 1 p.m.
