The Starting Five Notes
1.  St. Bonaventure looks for a sweep of the season series with Saint Louis when the Billikens visit the Reilly Center Wednesday. The Bonnies look to bounce back from an overtime decision to VCU against a Billiken team that has won three of its last four. This will be the first-ever St. Bonaventure basketball game streamed on Facebook Live, which is a new initiative of the Atlantic 10 Conference this season.

2.  Matt Mobley was named the A-10 co-Player of the Week after he averaged 28 points per game over the Bonnies' two games last week. He scored 34 points with a school record nine three-pointers Saturday against VCU. Mobley scored 22 points in the win at Duquesne.

3.  The backcourt of Jaylen Adams and Mobley is the fourth-highest scoring teammate tandem in the country, averaging 41.4 points per game. Adams leads the Atlantic 10 and ranks 13th nationally in scoring (21.5). He also leads the Atlantic 10 in assists. Mobley ranks fourth in the A-10 at 19.9 points per game and second in three-pointers.

4.  In his first year as a starter, senior Denzel Gregg is playing better than any point in his career, including last season when he was co-Sixth Man of the Year in the Atlantic 10. He is among the A-10 leaders in rebounding, blocks and field goal percentage and has become a reliable scorer with 15 games in double figures. Gregg has six double-doubles this season.

5.  Freshman center Amadi Ikpeze played 18 minutes in each of the Bonnies' games last week and averaged 6.0 points 3.0 rebounds and one block. He had played in three A-10 games prior.

Series Notes:
This will be the 20th meeting in a series that Saint Louis leads 10-9. The Bonnies, however, have won the last five meetings.

St. Bonaventure vs. Saint Louis: The Last Meeting
Jan. 17, 2017 at Chaifetz Arena: Bonnies 71, SLU 52
A dominating first half and the return of junior point guard Jaylen  Adams from a two-game injury layoff sparked St. Bonaventure. The Bonnies took control with a 21-3 run midway through the first half en route to a 46-15 lead by halftime. Adams tied the school record with 14 assists and scored 13 points. He had sat out the prior two games with an ankle injury. Matt Mobley led all scorers with 23 points, as he made six three-pointers.  LaDarien Griffin was a spark off the bench with six points, four rebounds and a career best five steals. David Andoh scored 10 points and Idris Taqqee finished with nine. The Bonnies held a 37-23 advantage in rebounds.

Saint Louis Notes:
• Saint Louis beat North Carolina A&T on Saturday, 78-59, in a rare February non-conference game. It was the Billikens' third win in their last four games. In A-10 action, Saint Louis topped George Mason in double OT on February 1 and UMass on Jan. 25.
• Saint Louis has been without leading scorer Jermaine Bishop for all but nine games due to an injury.
• Guard Davell Roby leads SLU at 11.2 points per game; he made five three-pointers against NC A&T. Senior guard Mike Crawford averages 10 points per game; he comes off a big week during which he made the game-winner vs. George Mason.
• First-year coach Travis Ford is very familiar to A-10 fans as he was coach at UMass for three years prior to spending the last eight at Oklahoma State.

Mobley Instant Offense
By any measure, Matt Mobley has provided instant offense in his debut season at St. Bonaventure. The 6-3 junior guard is fourth in the Atlantic 10 in scoring at 19.9 points per game. He has 13 games with 20 points or more including two 30-point games, most recently his career high 34 against VCU. Mobley leads the A-10 in three-point field goals (3.0 per game), is sixth in three-point percentage (.411) and eighth in free throw percentage (.846). Mobley is doing much more than just scoring -- he is also averaging 6.1 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game. He is 11th in the A-10 in rebounding, and the second-leading rebounder among A-10 guards. Mobley's production is not a surprise. He practiced with the Bonnies last season after transferring from Central Connecticut, where he averaged 17 points per game as a sophomore and was named the Northeast Conference's most improved player. Mobley had four games of 30-plus points that season.

Adams Top 13 In Nation In Scoring and Assists
Jaylen Adams earned plenty of preseason accolades (see further notes below) and he's lived up to the hype. Adams is 13th in the nation in scoring (21.5 ppg) and 13th nationally in assists (6.2 apg). He also is third in the Atlantic 10 in three-pointers (2.8/game) and second in steals (2.2). Adams missed two games in January due to a sprained ankle, but returned at Saint Louis and scored 13 points with 14 assists, tying the school record he already shares. Adams has 12 games of 20 points or more on the year including a pair of 31-point performances.

Gregg Provides Senior Leadership
Like many St. Bonaventure players before, Denzel Gregg's career has been marked by improvement, a testament to the program's player development. A fan favorite for his highlight-reel plays, the A-10's coaches named him the co-Sixth Man of the Year in 2015-16. The team's only four-year senior, the 6-7 forward has scored in double figures 15 times. His 12.9 average for the year is more almost four points a game better than last year. At the same time, Gregg continues to be a factor on both ends of the floor. He is fourth in the A-10 in rebounding (7.8) and third in blocked shots. Gregg leads all A-10 players in offensive rebounds (3.0). Six of his seven career double-doubles have been this season. Gregg stands fifth all-time at Bona's in blocked shots with 126.

12th Nationally In Free Throw Pct.
Last season, St. Bonaventure set a school record with a .773 free throw percentage. That good shooting at the line has carried over into this season. The Bonnies are at .771 at the charity stripe, which is 12th best in the country and ranks second in the Atlantic 10. Jaylen Adams and Matt Mobley both rank in the top 10 in the conference in free throw percentage. The Bonnies have made 64 more free throws than their opponents.
