ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. – The St. Bonaventure University men's tennis team defeated Wright State, 4-3, on Wednesday afternoon at the St. Bonaventure Fitness Center, grabbing three wins in singles action and two doubles matches to capture the doubles point.
Victor Blanco came away victorious in three sets in No. 1 singles, battling back after dropping the first set. In No. 2 singles, Hector Martinez came out on top by edging his opponent, 6-3, 6-4. In No. 4 singles, Indra Patwardhan continued his success by defeating his opponent in straight sets, 6-4, 6-1.
In doubles action, the pair of Blanco and Martinez earned a convincing 6-1 victory in the No. 1 spot over their opponents, and then Patwardwan and Lukas Linden Malmberg sealed the doubles point with a 6-3 win.
With the win, the Bonnies improve to 4-7 and will look to carry the momentum into this weekend's matchup as they travel to take on Army West Point for two matches. St. Bonaventure will first take on host Army West Point on Saturday before playing Fordham on Sunday.
