ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. – The St. Bonaventure University men's tennis team suffered a tough defeat at the hands of Mercyhurst, 5-2, on Friday evening.

In No. 2 singles, Indra Patwardhan put in a strong effort, defeating his opponent in straight sets.

In No. 3 singles, Lukas Linden Malmberg fought hard through three sets to pick up the victory over his opponent. Malmberg took the first set, 6-4, dropped the second set and then won the third set, 6-2, to seal the win.

In No. 2 doubles, the pair of Patwardhan and Malmberg earned a 6-4 victory over their opponents.

The pair of Victor Blanco and Hector Martinez battled to the wire, but ultimately fell in a thrilling match, 7-6.

The Brown and White will return to action on Sunday as they travel to take on the Purple Eagles of Niagara beginning at 12:00 p.m.
