WEST POINT, N.Y. – The St. Bonaventure University men's tennis team defeated Fordham, 6-1, on Sunday morning at Army West, earning five wins in singles action and grabbing the doubles point.

The victory gave the Bonnies their first win over an Atlantic 10 opponent this season.

In No. 1 singles, Victor Blanco put on a dominant performance, shutting out his opponent, 6-0, 6-0. In No. 5 singles, Lukas Linden Malmberg came away with a victory over his opponent, 6-1, 6-4.

Hector Martinez, Guillermo Garcia and John Rutkowski all showed resilience as all three won tough matches in three sets.

In doubles action, the pair of Blanco and Martinez earned a convincing 6-0 victory in the No. 1 spot over their opponents. Rutkowski and Garcia then sealed the doubles point with a hard-fought 7-6 (6) win in the No. 3 spot.

With the win, the Bonnies improve to 5-8 and will return to action on Friday at the St. Bonaventure Fitness Center as they play host to Colgate.
