ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. – A hot-shooting Davidson squad came away with a 75-68 victory over the St. Bonaventure women's basketball team Saturday at the Reilly Center, led by 27 points from the Wildcats' Kianna Speight.

A pair of Bonnies posted their best scoring efforts in Brown and White, led by 21 points from Arielle Harvey while Rhianna Council added 12.

St. Bonaventure (7-13, 2-5 Atlantic 10) started strong, opening the game on an 8-0 sprint powered by back-to-back 3s by Jalisha Terry and Harvey.

Davidson (8-12, 3-4) roared back, though, scoring 20 of the game's next 22 points to push ahead by double digits.

The Bonnies would fight an uphill battle the rest of the way, but again used a strong third quarter to come all the way back.

The game was separated by just four points at halftime, but Davidson grew the lead to nine with the first five points of the third. Bona rallied back, however, given strength by energy from Harvey and Council.

A traditional three-point play by Council at the 5:46 mark of the third brought the Bonnies within 45-44, though Davidson answered with a jumper by Ally Welling.

More work in the lane by Council cut the deficit to a point once more, then, following a timeout, Terry got herself to the foul line and hit one of two for the 47-47 tie at the 4:05 mark of the quarter.

Following a layup by Mackenzie Latt that put the Wildcats back on top, Mariah Ruff drilled a trey on the wing to give the Bonnies their first lead since the early minutes, 50-49, with 3:40 left in the third.

Davidson scored the final four points of the quarter, however, to take a 53-50 lead to the final 10 minutes.

Speight scored 10 of her game-high 27 points during the fourth as the Wildcats slowly pulled away. Bona got as close as 53-51, but Davidson then went on a 15-6 break to take control.

Each time the Bonnies attempted to create a rally in the fourth quarter, Davidson had an answer. Down just 61-57 following a three by Harvey with 6:47 to go, Speight replied with a trey of her own on the next Davidson possession in a back-and-forth that largely summed up the afternoon.

Davidson led by 12 with 52 seconds, but the Bonnies continued to fight, getting within 73-68 with 21 seconds left following a steal by Terry and lay-in by Migliore. It would be as close as the hosts would get, however.

In all, the Bonnies saw four players reach double-figure scoring. Along with Harvey and Council, Migliore finished with 13 points and seven rebounds while Terry posted 12 points and a career high nine assists.

The Bonnies are back in action Thursday night at Fordham.
