ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. – Lingering winter weather conditions have forced the cancellation of the remainder of the scheduled Atlantic 10 baseball series between St. Bonaventure and Saint Joseph's.
More snow Sunday morning and continued sub-freezing temperatures in the forecast have prompted officials to cancel the scheduled completion of Friday's suspended game as well as the second game of the series that was to take place Sunday afternoon.
As a result, Friday's game becomes official with Saint Joseph's taking a 4-3 victory in six innings. By NCAA rule, the game reverts back to the final "equal completed inning" which would be the sixth inning. Any statistics from the seventh inning when the game was suspended will not count and erased from official record.
The final two games of the series will be cancelled and not made up in accordance with Atlantic 10 Conference rules.
The Bonnies are back in action Tuesday, April 10 in non-conference play at Niagara. The next home games are scheduled for April 13-15 vs. VCU as A-10 play resumes.
