Bonnies Return Home To Take on URI Thursday, Dayton on Sunday

LAST TIME OUT
The Bonnies captured their third Atlantic 10 Conference in a 2-1 victory at Davidson on Sunday.
 
Graduate forward Cristina Torres netted both goals for the Bonnies in the game. Sophomore forward McKenna Robinson had a beautiful cross to assist on the first goal, while freshman midfielder Chanel Alexander made a nice lead pass to assist on the second goal of the game.
 
Alexander and Torres finished the game with two shots each to lead the Bonnies.
 
AWARDS WEEK
Torres was selected as Atlantic 10 Co-Offensive Player of the Week along with Sara Chontosh from George Mason.
 
The two goals that she scored against Davidson were her eighth and ninth goals of the season, propelling the Bonnies to their 2-1 victory.
 
On the season Torres leads the Atlantic 10 Conference and is 22nd in the NCAA with nine goals. She also leads the A-10 in points (18), goals per game (0.64), points per game (1.29), and shot accuracy (0.622).
 
Torres passed Cari Kruppner (1996) and sits eighth all-time in season points by a first-year St. Bonaventure player, and her nine goals rank fifth by any first-year Bona's player.
 
Also, Torres has the most goals in a season for any Bonnies player since Abby Maiello registered 10 scores in 2015.
 
Freshman goalkeeper Chiara Gottinger picks up weekly top conference rookie honors for the third time.
 
She is coming off a win against Davidson in which she recorded five saves. Those five saves added on to her Atlantic 10-leading total and puts her fifth in the NCAA with 94 stops on the season.
 
For the season Gottinger is atop the A-10 save percentage (0.862), saves per game (6.71), and minutes played (1328:10). She is third in the A-10 in shutouts with four.
 
ABOUT RHODE ISLAND
The Rams are coming off a 1-0 loss at Richmond. Junior forward Brooke Cavino leads the team with six points and 20 shots. She is tied with junior midfielder Tali O'Leary with six goals on the season. Senior midfielder Rebecca D'Anna has two assists on the season to lead the team. In net sophomore goalkeeper Faith Hutchins has recorded 50 saves on the season. Rhode Island was selected to finished 13th in the Atlantic 10 preseason polls.
 
In their last matchup the Bonnies defeated Rhode Island 1-0 at home, Oct. 17, 2019. The two teams did not play each other last season.
 
ABOUT DAYTON
In their last game on Sunday the Flyers loss 3-1 at VCU. Sophomore forward Itala Gemelli leads the team with 14 points and six goals, while junior midfielder Marlee Taylor has 13 points on the season with five goals and leads the team with three assists. Junior goalkeeper Madelyn Dewey has 40 saves on the season.
 
Dayton captured a 2-0 win at home against St. Bonaventure in their last matchup on April 4. The Flyers and Bonnies played each other three times last spring with Dayton scoring wins in each game.
 
UP NEXT
The Bonnies will travel to Massachusetts to take on UMass on Thursday, Oct. 21. The game is slated to begin at 3 p.m.
