PHILADELPHIA – Freshman Alexandra Jansson reached the round of 32 in singles action to lead the St. Bonaventure University women's tennis team at the ITA Regionals at the University of Penn Friday and Saturday.

Jansson started the tournament with a straight set, 6-2, 6-4, victory over Niagara's Elena Mayet. She began Saturday's competition with another straight set win, this time over Jenny Wong of Cornell, 7-6, 6-4.

The freshman's tournament came to a halt in the round of 32 when she fell Syracuse's Miyuka Kimoto in straight sets.

Anastasia Gubanova, Amelia Haley, Andrea Roque and Emily Stanley also competed at the ITA Regionals.

The Bonnies are back in action Friday, Oct. 15 at the Army Invitational.
