Bonnies Back on The Road To Take on Davidson

The St. Bonaventure University women's soccer team goes on the road to take on Davidson on Sunday at 2:00 p.m. 

SECOND A-10 WIN 
The last time the Bonnies were on the field for competition, St. Bonaventure earned its second victory in Atlantic 10 Conference play with a 1-0 victory over Saint Joseph's this past Sunday. 

The Bonnies were able to outshoot the Hawks, 14-11. Freshman midfielder Chanel Alexander led the Bonnies in shots with six, while graduate forward Cristina Torres and junior midfielder Christine Napoli each had two shots.

SBU now is tied for eighth in the A-10 standings.

TORRES TIME 
Torres added on to her Atlantic 10 leading goal total with a penalty kick goal against Saint Joseph's. This goal marks seven on the season for the San Juan, Puerto Rico native, and ties Lauren Hill for the most goals in a season for a Bonnies player since 2015. In the Atlantic 10 Conference Torres also ranks first in total points with 14, second in goals per game (0.54), and third in shot accuracy (0.600). 

STILL ATOP THE SAVES CHARTS 
Freshman goalkeeper Chiara Gottinger ranks first in the Atlantic 10 and third in the NCAA in saves with 89 and goalie minutes played with 1238:10. Gottinger also leads the Atlantic 10 in save per game (6.85) and shutouts (4). She ranks second in save percentage (0.864) and seventh in goals against average (1.018). 

ABOUT DAVIDSON 
The Wildcats are coming off a 0-0 draw against Duquesne. Freshman forward Aleia Gisolfi McCready leads the team in points with five and is tied for the team lead with two goals. Junior midfielder Sophia Caruso has two assists on the season to lead Davidson. In net senior goalkeeper Mary Grace Bunch has started 12 games this season and recorded 36 saves. Davidson was selected to finish seventh in the Atlantic 10 preseason polls. 

The Bonnies and Wildcats finished with a 0-0 double overtime draw in their last matchup in 2019 at Davidson. 

UP NEXT 
The Bonnies are set to return home to take on Rhode Island on Thursday, Oct. 14. The game is scheduled to begin at 7:00 p.m.
