LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. – Graduate student Jack Angelucci fired an even-par 72 to pace the St. Bonaventure golf team Wednesday afternoon at Schuyler Meadows Golf Club, but Franciscan sister school Siena used a red-hot back nine to capture The Murray Cup by three strokes, 294-297.

In the fourth edition of the event, Siena was able to win for the first time in the six-player, four-counting scores tournament setup.

Angelucci captured medalist honors for the event, winning by one shot over teammate Erik Stauderman as well as Siena's Brody Yates and Jack Tobin who all carded 1-over 73.

Siena had two counting scores of 74 from Nolan Crowley and Dan Brooks to erase a Bonnies lead from the opening nine to score the victory.

Lance Sininger and Michael Bucko each posted matching scores of 76 to complete the scoring for the Bonnies.

Also in the lineup for Bona's were Peter Byrne (77) and Jude Cummings (84).

In previous installments of The Murray Cup, the Bonnies scored a 280-283 win in 2021, and two match-play victories in 2018 (10.5-7.5) and 2017 (11-5).

The Cup is named for two ardent supporters of both schools' golf programs, 1968 St. Bonaventure graduate Ed Murray and Siena trustee John Murray. While the two Murrays are not related, they share a passion for the game of golf and their universities.

The Bonnies wrap up the fall season at the ODU/Kilmarlic Invitational Oct. 23-25.
