APALACHIN, N.Y. – Graduate student Erik Stauderman's top-five finish led the St. Bonaventure golf team in two rounds of action at the Matthews Auto Intercollegiate played on The Links at Hiawatha Sunday and Monday outside Binghamton.

Stauderman placed in a tie for fifth in the field of nearly 60 players. He carded nine birdies during the 36 holes, finishing with rounds of 71 and 73 for an even par 144 total.

In Sunday's round, he found red figures thanks to four birdies on the back nine to finish at 1-under 71. The fifth-year Bonnie wrapped his week with an eagle on the 523-yard par-5 final hole to put an exclamation mark on his terrific tournament.

As a team, the Bonnies placed sixth in the 10-team field. The Bonnies recorded a team score of 302 on Sunday and improved to 296 in Monday's final round for a 598 total.

Fellow graduate student Jack Angelucci had a strong second round, posting even-par 72 for a five-shot improvement over his opening 18. He placed in a tie for 20^th with a 149 total. His 25 total pars were second-most in the field for the tournament.

Also in the lineup for the Bonnies were senior Lance Sininger (76-76/152) as well as freshmen Gabe Williams (78-82/160) and Michael Bucko (86-75/161).

Playing as individuals, Jude Cummings (79-76/155), Andrew Lemay (76-81/157) and Caleb Decker (81-79/160) also competed for the Bonnies. Along with Stauderman, Lemay and Bucko each drained an eagle apiece as well.

The Bonnies are back in action Oct. 12 vs. Siena in the head-to-head Murray Cup held outside Albany at Schuyler Meadows Golf Club.
