The St. Bonaventure University women's lacrosse team will take on Pittsburgh Sunday, Feb. 20. Game time is scheduled for 12:00 p.m. The Bonnies are coming off a pair of losses in Ohio last weekend, including a heartbreaking 6-5 decision against a talented Akron team on Sunday.
HOWE'S HOT START
- Senior midfielder Rebecca Howe has gotten off to a great start to the 2022 season.
- One of the three team captains this season; she scored two goals in each of the games this past weekend, bringing her total to four goals and seven points.
- Howe has already matched her season-high in goals and exceeded her season high in points (five) from a year ago.
WIN THE DRAW
- The Bonnies have won 24 draw controls compared to their opponents 20 to start the year.
- Sophomore midfielder Maddie Mazur is responsible for a team-leading seven draw controls, while also scoring two goals and tallying one assist.
- Junior midfielder Courtney Fox is second on the team with four draw controls.
PROTECT THE NET
- In the cage this season the Bonnies have tallied 25 saves.
- Senior Hayley McIntyre recorded 13 saves against Akron, tying her total number of saves from a season ago.
- Junior Ashley Herrick made 12 saves on 30 shots on goal by Youngstown State.
ABOUT PITT
- The 2022 season marks the first season for the Panthers entering as a Division I lacrosse program.
- In their first game in their inaugural season they recorded an overtime thrilling victory against Duquesne, 9-8.
- Senior attacker Kierin Ratliff-Kailbourne led the way for Pitt with four goals, while junior attacker Carlie Leach had two goals including the game-winner in overtime.
- In net, graduate goalkeeper Paulina DiFatta collected seven saves in the win.
- Graduate attacker Paige Petty was a 2022 Preseason All-ACC At-Large selection.
- Pitt is projected to finish ninth receiving 11 points, according to the 2022 ACC Preseason Poll.
UP NEXT
- The Bonnies will make their home debut at Marra Athletics Complex when they host Colgate on Saturday Feb. 26. The game is scheduled to begin at 3:00 p.m.
