ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. – The St. Bonaventure University women's tennis team swept Binghamton, 7-0, Friday afternoon at the SBU Fitness Center, earning its first victory of the season.

The Bonnies got things started Friday by taking the doubles point with wins at No. 2 and No. 3 doubles.

Alexandra Jansson and Emily Stanley teamed up to beat Abby Ackroyd and Lara Kaplan, 6-3, at No. 2 doubles while Floor Lissone and Paula Velilla secured the doubles point with a 6-2 win over Kelly Chen and Brielle DeRoberts at the No. 3 flight.

The Bonnies went on to sweep all six singles matches en route to the victory.

Jansson, Lissone, Stanley, Velilla and Anastasia Gubanova all earned wins in straight sets while Amelia Haley battled for a three-set victory over Maria Pereira, 6-3, 4-6, 10-5.

The Bonnies are back in action Sunday, Feb. 27 when they host Mercyhurst. That match is scheduled to begin at 2:00 p.m.
