Richmond Runs Past Bonnies

RICHMOND, Va. - Nationally-ranked Richmond proved too much for the St. Bonaventure men's lacrosse team Tuesday afternoon as the Spiders scored a 17-3 victory at Robins Stadium.

The 19th-ranked Spiders (3-1) opened the game on an 8-0 run, holding the Bonnies off the board until the 5:30 mark of the second quarter.

Jackson Rose scored the first of his two goals on the day to get the Bonnies into the scoring, posting his second strike to close the gap to 9-2.

Unfortunately for the Bonnies, it would be as close as they could get as Richmond would control possession for most of the day.

In addition to the two goals from Rose, Austin Blumbergs scored a tally as well while Conor Murphy and Zach Owens each had an assist.

Brett Dobson made 19 saves for SBU while Ben Mazur posted three saves in five and a half minutes down the stretch.

Trent Grainger was credited with nine faceoff wins.

St. Bonaventure returns home from its spring break trip with a 2-2 record and will host Hampton Saturday at 11 a.m.
