ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. – The St. Bonaventure University women's lacrosse team suffered a 16-7 setback against Saint Joseph's at the Marra Athletics Complex Sunday afternoon.
 
The Hawks (6-4, 2-0 A-10) got off to an early lead with five goals in the first period of the game.
 
St. Bonaventure fought back in to the game in the second period scoring three goals.
 
Abby Hiltz and Fiona McGovern both put goals in the back of the net, while freshman Sylvi Jenner recorded her first collegiate goal and point in the second period.
 
The third period of play consisted of lone scores for each team.
 
Hiltz scored her third goal of the game in the third period, along with Saint Joseph's Lauren Figura.
 
The Bonnies (1-7, 0-2 A-10), however, were unable to stop the Hawks offense in the final period.
 
Saint Joseph's capped the game off with six goals, outscoring the Bonnies by four in the final period.
 
Maddie Mazur and Kassi Hogan each added a goal in the fourth period.
 
McGovern and Courtney Fox each finished the game with two assists, while Hiltz added one.
 
In the cage, Ashley Herrick recorded 12 saves, marking her sixth game this season with 12 or more saves.
 
Sophomore goalkeeper Jorden Concordia picked up the win, finishing with 16 saves.
 
For the game Saint Joseph's narrowly outshot the Bonnies, 34-30.
 
The Bonnies travel to Fairfax, Va. to take on George Mason Friday, April 1. The game is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
