ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. – The honors continue to roll in for St. Bonaventure men's lacrosse senior goalie Brett Dobson.

The five-time MAAC Defensive Player of the Week was named to the Inside Lacrosse Midseason All-American Second Team, officials announced Thursday.

Inside Lacrosse's Media All-America list was voted on by a dozen media members who vote in the weekly national Division I polls. Each voter selected up to four teams featuring three attackmen, three midfielders, a faceoff specialist, two shortstick defensive midfielders, a longstick midfielder, three defenders and a goalie. Votes were tabulated and sorted into three teams and an honorable mention list.

Dobson joins First Team honoree Owen McElroy of Georgetown and Third Team selection Colin Kirst of Rutgers as the Midseason All-American goalies.

"I feel like he is the best goalie in the NCAA," St. Bonaventure head coach Randy Mearns said of his senior goalie. "He works on his game every day. His work ethic has gotten him to this stage. If he isn't making the type of saves that he is, maybe we aren't winning the one-goal games that we have been so far. Brett is tremendous and is having a phenomenal year."

The Oshawa, Ontario native has been lights out all season, keying the Bonnies to their best-ever start at 7-2 and 2-0 in MAAC play. He ranks first nationally in save percentage at .659 and also stands second nationally in saves per game (16.3) and third in goals against average (8.88). He leads the MAAC in each of those categories.

This season has been the continuation of stellar play in the cage by Dobson. He led the country last year in save percentage (.599) and ranked fifth nationally in goals against average as a junior (9.1). This past fall, he was selected to represent Team Canada at the U.S. Lacrosse Fall Classic for the second time in his career.

Dobson has tallied 15 or more saves in six of nine games so far this season, including a high of 22 at Saint Joseph's and 19 three different times.

St. Bonaventure has won five straight games and has a bye this week before hosting defending MAAC champion Monmouth Saturday, April 9 at the Marra Athletics Complex.
