Bonnies Golf Graduating Class Leaves Mark on Program Record Books

The St. Bonaventure Golf graduating class will be remembered as one of the best in program history, leaving their mark throughout the Bonnies record books. Here's a look back at the accomplishments of this year's graduates, highlighted by this season's efforts:
  • Christian Chapman and Danny Gianniny each broke the existing St. Bonaventure career scoring record. Chapman now owns the school record with a career average of 73.08 over 63 total rounds while Gianniny stands second at 74.16 after 115 rounds. The previous record of 74.68 had been held since 2008 by Andy Whalen
  • Jack Geise stands 12th in school history with a career scoring average of 76.07 over 81 rounds
  • Chapman set the single season scoring average record this year (72.69)
  • Chapman's 94 birdies this year broke the old school single-season record of 90 set by Brent Morgan in 2018-19
  • Gianniny's 2021-22 campaign ranks sixth in single season scoring (74.06). His 2018-19 season is fourth (73.39)
  • Gianniny posted 10 rounds of par or better this year, a new program-best. Chapman tied the previous record of nine
  • Gianniny drained eight eagles this year, a new school record. Erik Stauderman also had six eagles, good for second in school history
  • Chapman's par-4 season scoring average of 4.0779 is a team record
  • Chapman now owns the school records for low round (65), low round vs. par (-7), and low 54-hole total (205). He also has two rounds of 66, tying the previous school record
  • Geise finishes with three career wins, two off the program record
  • Gianniny posted school records for career par or better rounds (30), rounds played (115) and eagles (13). He also stands second in career counting scores (109, 95 percent of his rounds) and birdies (255)
  • Chapman is third in career rounds of par or better (20) and 10th in total birdies (186)
  • Geise is 13th in career birdies (161)
  • As a team, Bona's 360 birdies this season breaks the old school record of 351
