ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. – The St. Bonaventure University men's soccer team fell to Cleveland State, 2-0, Monday evening at the Marra Athletics Complex.
The Vikings started the scoring in the 35th minute when Hector Gomez found the back of the net off assists from Bojan Kolevski and Albert Portas.
Cleveland State (4-1-0) tacked on its second goal of the night in the 68th minute off a free kick goal from Pablo Kawecki from just outside the box.
The Bonnies (2-3-1) best chances to score in the contest both came from Aleksander Mihov. The junior midfielder headed a shot on net in the 42nd minute but was stopped by the goalkeeper.
Mihov had another chance in the closing seconds of the match, but that shot was also turned away.
Bonnies goalkeeper Nicolas Pucci finished with a pair of saves in the contest.
The Bonnies are back in action Saturday, Sept. 17 as they begin Atlantic 10 play at George Mason. Kickoff is set for 7:00 p.m.
