ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. – The St. Bonaventure University women's soccer team dropped a 3-0 decision against Davidson Sunday afternoon at Marra Athletics Complex.
Three second half goals propelled the Wildcats to their victory after a scoreless first half.
In the 65
th minute, Charlotte Snead kicked the ball off a Bonnies defender in the box and found the foot of Alli Jacobson for Davidson's first score of the game.
Shortly after, the Wildcats took a 2-0 lead when sophomore goalkeeper
Chiara Gottinger was out of position due to strong pressure and ended up leaving the net open for a goal from Remi White in the 71
st minute.
Davidson (9-2-1, 2-2 A-10) capped off the afternoon four minutes later when Sophia Caruso netted a loose ball off a free kick from Hailey Braemer.
The Bonnies best chance to answer
back came in the 80
th minute when junior
Lydia Choban fired a shot and it deflected off the diving Davidson goalkeeper Mary Grace Bunch.
St. Bonaventure (2-4-5, 0-4 A-10) had a team-high two shots apiece from
Rachel Hutchison and
McKenna Robinson.
Sophia Caruso and Hailey Braemer each recorded four shots for the Wildcats.
Gottinger made five saves in the game, bringing her season total to 91 stops. She currently ranks first in the nation in total saves.
The Bonnies continue their three-game homestand by hosting George Mason on Thursday, Sept. 29. Game time is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
