HAMILTON, N.Y. – Senior Lance Sininger and freshman Michael Bucko each posted 54-hole totals of 222 to lead the St. Bonaventure golf team in the season-opening event at the Alex Lagowitz Memorial played at Seven Oaks Golf Club over the weekend.

As a team, the Bonnies finished 12^th in the 14-team field at 889 for the weekend, but steadily improved over each of the three rounds.

Sininger's 74 was the best of the bunch in a tough opening 18 that saw the Bonnies post 303 Saturday morning. The fourth-year Bonnie bettered his opening round by two shots to a team-best even-par 72 on the recently lengthened 7,125-yard layout as the team improved to 298 in the afternoon.

Bucko and graduate student Erik Stauderman found red figures in the finale Sunday, each finishing at 1-under 71 while the Bonnies improved their second round total by 10 strokes to finish play with a team total of 288.

In his first collegiate tournament, Bucko carded 10 birdies for the weekend to lead the team while graduate student Jack Angelucci drained nine birdies in his inaugural showing with the Brown and White.

Sininger (74-72-76) and Bucko (74-77-71) each tied for 35^th out of 90 players on the individual leaderboard.

Stauderman wrapped the weekend by improving each round, 78-77-71, tying with Angelucci (78-74-74) at a 226 total.

Also in the lineup for the Bonnies were Gabe Williams (77-75-77/229) and Andrew Lemay (82-77-72/231).

St. Bonaventure next tees it up at the VCU Invitational in Virginia Sept. 12-13.
