St. Bonaventure University women's soccer graduate
Cristina Torres has signed professionally with Liga MX club Mazatlán FC.
The San Juan, Puerto Rico native graduated in December after playing two seasons for the Brown and White.
Torres was named to the First Team All-Atlantic 10 after posting a conference-high 13 goals in 2021, which ranked 11
th in the NCAA. Also, she was second in the A-10 in points (26), goals per game (0.68), and points per game (1.37). Her performance last season helped the Bonnies clinch an A-10 tournament berth for the first time since 2013.
This past season, she ranked second on the team with six points, highlighted by scoring the game-winning goal off a penalty kick against Richmond.
Currently, in the women's soccer record book, Torres sits 26th all-time in Bonnies career points with 32 in two seasons.
Prior to signing with Mazatlán FC, Torres was a member Puerto Rico Sol which is the Puerto Rican association football club from Mayagüez that currently plays in the Liga Puerto Rico. Liga Puerto Rico is the highest level of soccer in the country.
