Bonnies Capture First Win of Season, 70-52, Over Robert Morris

ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. – Dani Haskell's 23 points capped off a celebratory day at the Reilly Center as the St. Bonaventure University women's basketball defeated Robert Morris, 70-52, Saturday afternoon.

During halftime, the Bonnies honored the No. 42, celebrating the accomplishments and careers of program greats Sue Shay and Katie Healy.

Haskell finished 5-of-17 from the field and 10-for-11 from the free throw line, playing 38 minutes in her St. Bonaventure debut after missing the season opener Wednesday. Isabellah Middleton added 14 points and eight rebounds while Claire Cody chipped in a career-high 13 points.

The Bonnies (1-1) trailed early on in the second quarter, 21-19, but were able to use a 7-0 run to regain the lead, 25-21.

SBU's defense held Robert Morris (1-1) without a basket for the final 3:26 of the first half to take a 34-36 lead into halftime.

An 11-0 run spanning over three minutes midway through the third proved to be the difference in Saturday's matchup, pushing the Bonnies ahead by double digits, 49-32.

The Colonials were able to cut the deficit down to nine after a free through with 2:50 remaining in the contest, but that is as close as they would get as the Bonnies ended the game on an 11-2 run, earning the victory.

The Bonnies remain at home when they host UAlbany Thursday, Nov. 16 at the Reilly Center. Tip is slated for 7:00 p.m.
