Softball Adds Eight Student-Athletes During Signing Period

ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. – St. Bonaventure University softball head coach Mike Threehouse has announced the addition of eight student-athletes during the early signing period.

Nolah Moyer, Ava Lomelin, Gia Recrosio, Mackenzie Frani, Lauren Dundon, Sawyer Burke, Jordan Lucas and Ariana Buchiere will all join the Bonnies for the fall of 2024.

"The 2024 class is the culmination of a lot of hard work on the recruiting trail by the coaching staff," Threehouse said. "This group is loaded with diverse talent that will help us many different ways on the field. It is made up of top pitching prospects, power at the plate and a lot speed on the bases. They will all play a major role in the future of SBU softball as we strive to once again make the Atlantic 10 postseason."

Nolah Moyer joins the Bonnies from Muncy, Pa. and is a left-handed pitcher as well as a first baseman for Muncy High School. During the 2023 season, Moyer slashed .544/.622/.838 at the plate while holding opponents to just a .077 batting average against in the circle. Over 118 innings pitching, Moyer struck out 264 batters, carrying a 0.47 ERA and a 0.54 WHIP. Moyer has earned All-State First Team honors three times during her high school career. She also plays for Havoc Elite during the summer, slashing .556/.593/.736. Moyer struck out 115 batters over 68.2 innings of work in summer travel ball and helped her team to a 25-4 record. She is a member of the National Honor Society and the Honor Roll.

Ava Lomelin comes to St. Bonaventure from Purcellville, Va. where she pitches as well as plays first base for Loudon Valley High School. Lomelin hit .351 at the plate while also touting a 3.52 ERA in the circle. While with the Tri-State Thunder NOVA travel team, she batted .405. Lomelin intends on majoring in psychology at St. Bonaventure.

Shortstop Gia Recrosio joins Bona's from Pittsburgh, Pa. She is a career .526 hitter for The Linsly School in Wheeling, W. Va. Recrosio is a three-time All-Conference selection. She also plays for Team Pennsylvania at the travel level. Recrosio's sister, Karena, is in her first season with the Bonnies. She plans on majoring in biology/pre-medicine at St. Bonaventure.

Mackenzie Frani joins the Bonnies from Syracuse and is a pitcher for Liverpool High School. Frani is a Central New York All-Section III selection as well as earning All-Section AA First Team honors. Frani also earned All-Section AA accolades twice. Frani is a member of the Honor Roll and intends on studying physical education at St. Bonaventure.

Lauren Dundon joins the Brown and White as a utility player from Endwell, N.Y. and Maine Endwell High School. She posted a .340 batting average during the regular season to go along with a .425 average during the postseason, helping Maine Endwell to a New York State Class A Championship. For her career, she carries a .950 fielding percentage. She was named a Greater Binghamton Elite 15 Player in 2022. While playing for the RBI Lightning, Dundon slashed .450/.577/.625. Dundon plans on studying health science at St. Bonaventure.

Joining the Bonnies from Wellsville, N.Y. is Sawyer Burke. She is an outfielder for Wellsville High School where she batted .400 as a junior to go along with 11 RBIs, 10 runs scored and five stolen bases. During her sophomore campaign, Burke hit .433 with 30 runs scored, 20 RBIs and 13 stolen bases. She played for the Wellsville team in the Far West Regional this past season and also plays for the Wellsville Dawgs. Burke's father, Matthew, played baseball for the Bonnies in 1995. She is also a member of the National Honor Society. Burke plans on majoring in sports media.

Jordan Lucas comes to St. Bonaventure as a pitcher as well as a first baseman from Fredonia, N.Y. and Fredonia High School. During the 2023 season, Lucas carried a 1.16 ERA while striking out 256 batters in 20 games. She also hit .471, collecting 32 hits in 2023. She holds the Fredonia single season record for strikeouts. Lucas was is a two-time Western New York All-Star selection and was a Chautauqua County First Team All-Star. She was named the team MVP in 2022. Lucas has also spent time with the West Seneca Magic and the Tennessee Fury Sewell. She plans on studying psychology at St. Bonaventure.

Ariana Buchiere joins the Brown and White from Canandaigua, N.Y. and is an outfielder for Canandaigua Academy. She has earned First and Second Team All-County accolades. While traveling with the Vipers Smash It Sports travel team, Buchiere carries a .539 batting average. Buchiere plans on majoring in occupational therapy.
