Bonnies Propel Past Akron, 12-10

St. Bonaventure N.Y. – St. Bonaventure University women's lacrosse used a hot start and a great defensive effort to earn there first win of the 2023 campaign, 12-10, Saturday afternoon at the Marra Athetics Complex.

St. Bonaventure was able to attack the Zips early and often, outshooting them 27-17.

Senior Nora Anderson got off to a quick start, scoring the first goal of the game three and half minutes into the contest, receiving off a pass from sophomore Abby Hiltz.

Hiltz then sent a pass to freshman Brooke Piper, who put the ball in the back of the net for her third goal of the season.

St. Bonaventure (1-3) continued its aggressive first half as Anderson found the back of the net twice on free-position shots to complete her first half hat trick of the season.

Sophomore Fiona McGovern added both a goal and an assist in the second to give the Bonnies a 6-3 advantage going into halftime.

The Zips (1-2) made a comeback attempt in the third quarter, with four separate players connecting on shots.

However, St. Bonaventure answered back with four goals of their own, capped off by acrobatic score from Senior Sarah Owens.
